Orientation is a great way to welcome and introduce you to the wealth of opportunities that Western Express has to offer. It also ensures everyone's safety as well as confirms that we all have everything we need to put our best wheels forward.
Our orientation process is designed to be quick and efficient, with most drivers finishing in just 2 days. (Flatbed drivers go on to complete an additional 3 days of paid load securement training.)
During orientation, you will learn about our safety and operational procedures, take a road test and complete all necessary paperwork. You will also meet someone from every department, including Safety, Operations, Fuel Compliance, Driver Payroll and more.
You'll find it's a great way to get acquainted with people who'll be helping you while you're on the road, as well as gain a deeper appreciation of our unique, family-like environment here at Western.

Transportation, Lodging & Meals
By default, we provide orientation transportation via bus line. (Some drivers may qualify for a flight instead.) You also have the option to be reimbursed for travel expenses if you choose to arrange your own transportation. Reimbursements require original receipts and are capped at the price of the bus fare.
Double-occupancy lodging is provided at no cost. Single-occupancy rooms are optional in Nashville (if available) and require pre-payment equal to half of the room cost. (Ask your recruiter for details!)
Meals are provided at our 4 terminal locations where we currently have orientation (CA, TN, VA and PA).
Your recruiter will get you scheduled and set up your personal arrangements. You will receive your travel information via email, including dates, times, addresses and phone numbers. If you have additional questions or need to reschedule orientation, please let your recruiter know BEFORE you are due to depart! Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
